A Tiny Princess Named Ellie Started It All
Just a few years ago, a bubbly and adventurous local toddler named Ellie was diagnosed with cancer. Family, friends, and locals who heard about the family’s situation pulled together and helped ease the family’s burdens so they could focus on her care. They also went out of their way to help Ellie continue to smile and enjoy each and every day.
Although Ellie is no longer here with us, she continues to inspire this original core group and 100+ more volunteers who give back locally and find ways to #LetItShine.
5,600
That’s the number of people they helped in 2020.
The pandemic tried to slow them down.
Their volunteers are resilient and determined.
Ellie’s Elves
Ellie’s Elves hosts various community events with the sole purpose of helping to shine a light during local families’ darkest hours.
When things seem at their darkest, their commitment continues to be to help our neighbors facing unforeseen crises.
Making a Difference Locally
Ellie’s Elves has a focus in assisting families facing cancer and other illnesses, support through clothing and food for foster care families and a helping hand for families who have suffered traumatic life events like house fires.
Ellie’s Elves hosts three locations of Elves Donation Closets where they store clothing and shoes for all ages, housewares, toiletries and other necessities. Ellie’s Elves also supports “Ellie’s Toy Closet.” The toy closets are stocked with new toys, electronics and books for pediatric patients receiving care in the facility.
Whether building an accessibility ramp for a cancer patient in need, helping a family after a house fire, or making a terminal little boy’s Christmas dreams come true, Ellie’s Elves finds a way to #LetItShine.
