Fundraiser For The Mosher Family
Mattie, Barbara, Michael, and Olivia Warren
The Mosher Family needs help with gift cards for meals and monetary donations for expenses. We suggest the following local businesses as gift card options because of their proximity to Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center (VCU): Target, Walmart, and Instacart Gift Cards, because they do allow parents to order groceries and have them delivered. Note: Some of the places around VCU don’t accept Doordash and Chick-Fil-A gift cards.
Any contribution is greatly appreciated – a digital gift card for a restaurant, a digital gift card to a delivery service for restaurants, and / or monetary donations. With your help, we can help ease the financial burden for the Mosher Family during this difficult time. Thank you, in advance, to everyone who can support this family!
Impact The LIGHT Of This Local Family
6-year-old Baylee fell ill around March 21, initially diagnosed with Covid, strep throat, and a UTI. She began to improve by Easter weekend, but her condition took a downturn the following Monday with a fever, vomiting, severe headaches, and abdominal pain. Her primary care doctor suggested it was viral and advised a return visit if symptoms worsened. By Wednesday, Baylee’s condition had deteriorated significantly; she was unable to walk without assistance and showed signs of severe dehydration due to vomiting. An urgent visit to Lee’s Hill ER led to immediate care, including blood tests, a CT scan, X-rays, and IV fluids. The tests largely came back normal, apart from an X-ray that hinted at a lingering viral infection. The ER doctor, observing her difficulty with standing and walking, decided she needed specialized care and transferred her to VCU. There, she has undergone extensive testing, including MRI scans, more blood work, a lumbar puncture, and an EEG. The tests have been reassuring except for elevated pressure in her spinal fluid. Baylee is now receiving daily therapy to regain her mobility, struggling with standing, sitting without support, a weakened right side, alongside slurred speech and pressure on the brain. They are facing a potentially lengthy hospital stay at VCU since the cause of her illness is still unknown. The family—mom Brittany, dad Justin, are by her side, and sisters Skyler and Summer are with friends and family all hoping for a recovery and grateful for any prayers during this challenging time.
