My name is April Wheeler, and I have had the pleasure of being not only an Elf for Ellie’s Elves from time to time over the past seven years but also a recipient of their services when I was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in late 2020.
Joni and Ellie’s Elves were a gift to me during my journey with leukemia…and like all of us, it was shocking and scary news.
Ryan Mott was diagnosed with a terminal brain cancer called DIPG at the age of 8. We knew he had less than a year to live. Our main focus was making memories and hoping for a miracle.
In 2019 I Harvi not only experienced a major loss, but he also found himself homeless. Ellie’s Elves stepped in to brighten his outlook.
In the summer of 2017 my husband and I, along with our two daughters, experienced a house fire in the middle of the night.

Jen’s daughter lost her father at a very young age and when she showed an interest in basketball, Ellie’s Elves showed up spreading their light.
Our son, Arthur “AJ,” was born in January 2019 with hypoplastic left heart syndrome. After meeting Joni in 2020, Ellie’s Elves jumped in and became team AJ.
On February 14, 2013, two-year Ellie Blaine was diagnozed with pineoblastoma, a tumor on the pineal gland.
